August 13, 2007 - ADDITIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPLETED ON "REMEMBERING PHIL"

Pickup shots and additional scenes were shot and completed over the 3-day stretch of August 11th to 13th. Along with the usual assortment of POV's, inserts and establishing shots, the bulk of the work consisted of two mini-films -- the über-violent Miles Delaney opus "St. Mary's Tourniquet" and the laugh-tracked "Ode to a Forklift" -- which are to be featured within the larger whole of "Remembering Phil." A good time was had by all, and my extra special thanks go out to Michael Katz, Yolanda Romersa, Kara Stephens, Donna Sexton, Marko Bratina and Rich Malkin, among many others, for doing what needed to be done by any means necessary.

April 26, 2007 - VULTURES...?

So now I'm working with vultures?! Who says being a film director is all about glamour and beauty? And just try communicating subtleties of motivation to a carrion bird....

Then again, the lovely Christina Murphy seemed to be having a good time with the winged creature...

April 17, 2007 - "Remembering Phil" shoots on the Universal Studios lot

And we've got the sign to prove it. What's next? Maybe we'll get our own tram-stop attraction on the backlot, like King Kong or Jaws... or maybe an actual ride like Jurassic park.

Thank you to Michelle Chubarov of Universal for making it remarkably easy for a little indie film like ours to shoot like the big guys.

December 2006 - ROSE 13 CREATIVE teams up with LA PALOMA PRODUCTIONS

Los Angeles, CA - In a move designed to expand music video and commercial production opportunities in both English and Spanish-language media, La Paloma Productions and executive producer Yolanda Romersa have teamed up with director Brian Smith and his Rose 13 Creative imprint. In the partnership, creative and conceptual work will be handled under the Rose 13 banner, while La Paloma will execute day-to-day production operations.

For director Brian Smith, best known for his work with the groups Monster Magnet and Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, the move was sparked by the desire to target the burgeoning Spanish-language media market. For La Paloma founder and executive producer Yolanda Romersa, partnering with Smith allows her to expand her efforts in the field of music video production.

Yolanda Romersa is the managing partner for La Paloma Productions, LLC, which has previously concentrated its efforts in the realms of live music and theatre enterprises. For the company's debut theatrical production, Romersa brought the bi-lingual musical Paloma to the Los Angeles stage. To date, Paloma has been presented at the Hudson Backstage in Hollywood, Casa de Sousa in Plazita Olvera, and the Hispanic Women’s Conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Also in the works is a feature film adaptation of the musical, as well as development of other stage and screen projects.

In addition to her producing background, Romersa is an accomplished actress and vocalist and her voice has graced TV commercial jingles for La Opinion and Glamour Shots. Her vocals were also featured on a song from The Young and the Restless, for which she shared co-songwriting credits. "As a longtime singer and performer myself, producing music videos is a natural for me," Romersa says, "and joining forces with Brian is an exciting step on that path."

August 29, 2005 - Key Club premieres Poets & Pornstars, Rachael Leigh Cook in "Monkey"

The Key Club in West Hollywood, California gave the big screen treatment for the August 29th premiere of the new music video "Monkey" for local L.A. heroes Poets & Pornstars. A packed house was treated to the first public glimpse of the video, on dozens of wide-screen projection TVs, following a rocking live set by the band. The clip stars actress Rachael Leigh Cook as a music lover who will go to any lengths for a wicked dose of rock & roll.

Set in a nearly defunct desert brothel and its subterranean catacombs, the video juxtaposes colorful visuals and offbeat humor with a ferocious performance by singer Hal Ozsan and the hot new band.

MTV Real World and Surreal Life diva Trishelle Cannatella also makes an appearance as a particularly jaded lady of the evening.

August 7, 2004 - Monster Magnet's "Unbroken" video makes MTV debut on Headbangers Ball; causes a stir on the Howard Stern Show

On the heels of its IFILM success, the mighty "Unbroken (Hotel Baby)" video made its first MTV Networks appearance, as the featured new clip on Headbangers Ball.

Earlier in the week, the video was a hot topic of discussion on Howard Stern's nationally syndicated radio and TV show, thanks to video cast member and adult film star Corina Taylor.

June 30, 2004 - Monster Magnet spends a month in iFILM Top 10.

The music video for Monster Magnet's new single "Unbroken (Hotel Baby)" was added in June to the music video playlist of IFILM.com.  Within days, it had climbed the IFILM music video charts, with more than 2,200 viewings in its first week alone. The clip spent the entire month of June in the Music Video Top 10, reaching the #3 position on the Pop/Rock Video ladder, and the #6 position for all music videos on the system.

December 23, 2003 - Lucyfire's "Pain Song" dancer named Playboy's 50th Anniversary Playmate!

Back in 2001, music video fans and film festival audiences alike were treated to an early look at sexy Colleen Shannon in Lucyfire's epic "Pain Song" video. Playing a silver-clad, fluorescent-wigged Vegas vixen who meets a tragic fate in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, Colleen was a joy to work with and left an indelible mark on the video.

And now, less than three years later, she has triumphed over nearly 10,000 other hopefuls to be selected by Playboy Magazine as their 50th Anniversary Playmate (aka Miss January 2004) for the magazine's special 50th Anniversary Issue.

Congratulations, Colleen, and Happy Holidays everyone!

October 2002 - Willard clip debuts on Sunset Blvd. video billboard

Making its debut high above the Sunset Strip on the giant video billboard adjacent to the House of Blues, this 30 second commercial spot introduced the band Willard to a traffic-captive, often gridlocked audience.  Airing every five minutes from 6:00 am to midnight, and visible from as far away as the Griffith Observatory, the 200+ spin barrage proved that perhaps the best way to bring an audience to a band is by bringing the band directly to the people.

Summer 2002 - Robert Bradley's "Train" takes to the air...literally!

The music video version of the Robert Bradley project has been featured by Delta Airlines as part of their in-flight entertainment on all domestic routes during the months of June and July, 2002.  In the process, the clip was exposed to an estimated 8 million Delta passengers (on more than 56,000 flights), proving once again that there are many ways to bring music and visuals to the people!
